What kinds of roles exist
Volunteering with the organization isn't "going to play with the kids". Roles fit each volunteer's real capabilities and respect the professional work of the team:
Mentor or tutor
One-on-one accompaniment for a young person or a family. It requires prior training and a commitment of at least one year. It runs through the organization's official programme.
Short-term workshop leader
Lead a short workshop (crafts, sports, reading, languages) at one of the villages. It's a time-bounded commitment.
Professional support
Design, translation, photography, programming, marketing, psychology. The organization has specific needs and connects them with professionals who offer their time.
Events and campaigns
Logistical and outreach support for specific campaigns (e.g. "Regalamos Sonrisas", community fairs, fundraising events).
Requirements that apply to all roles
- At least 18 years old.
- Background check (in the real process, not in the demo).
- Safeguarding training before the first contact with children.
- Explicit commitment to follow protection protocols.
- Signed confidentiality and conduct agreement.
In this demo we've omitted the formal verification steps because we cannot simulate them responsibly. The organization runs them in the real process.
